HG/SS: Almost got that bug- The Bug Contest

So what did you think of the Bug contests held on Tuesdays and Saturdays,where trainers gathered to catch the strongest bug-types using Sport Balls and win fantastic prizes? Did you like the Pokemon you could find during the contest,or do you wish they introduced more variety?
Was it fun for you,or just tedious and a pure waste of time and effort? Have you ever managed to win the 1st Prize and become a victorious bug catcher? I personally felt the Bug contest,was a great addition.It allowed me to catch Pokemon found usually late in the game right here. It was fun competing and even if I never really did manage to make it to the top,I'd always come out with a new prized bug Pokemon.
