4th Generation: What starter did you choose?

So, the title of this thread says it all: Which starter did you choose in the 4th Generation?

Vote in the poll and tell us who you picked in D/P/Pt and who you picked in HG/SS.

Well, Gen 4 was all about the Grass starters for me. The Chikorita line is amazing, a bunch of elegant Pokemon, and the only ones that look female in my opinion! And the Turtwig line is equally as impressive, the cuteness of Turtwig coupled with the awesomeness of Torterra makes an awesome combo! Grass was the pick for Generation 4 for me!

I had a strike at Piplup, it's final evolution looked cool and sleek along with powerful and I thought I'd give water a shot after a long streak of fire starters. Piplup was a great addition to my team with various attacks and I found its design pretty adorable. Chimchar never really appealed to me, I tossed it up with Turtwig but then decided on the cute blue penguin.

HG/SS? My choice went to Cyndaquil, I know I reminded myself to try be diverse with starters, but Cyndaquil was cute and powerful so I couldn't resist. It was a hard hitter and to be honest some of my hardest battles were won by this little guy. On SS I had a shot at Totodile, it was also pretty cool being a crocodile and learning powerful moves like 'Superpower.'

For me, it was all about the Fire-types cos they were so handy.

I picked Chimchar in both Pearl and Platinum (cos I love monkeys) and in SoulSilver it was Cyndaquil (it's my fave Johto starter).

Yeah, this is one of the very few generations in which I don't pick the Water-type.

I chose Chimchar and Cyndaquil in Diamond and Heartgold respectively.

I chose Chimchar when I first played Pokémon Pearl. Good thing I did too, because I thought it was one of my best Pokémon since it got me through the game easily. If I did play Heart Gold or Soul Silver, I would have chosen Totodile.
